Tina & Charlie's Wedding

Tina and Charlie are artists. Their shared love for imaginative expressions of visual art is as apparent as a carefully stroked swath of brilliant paint on fine, stretched canvas. As I captured images of Charlie and his groomsmen preparing for the moment when he would pledge his life to Tina, Charlie would occasionally stop tying his tie or momentarily look up from buttoning his sleeves to get to what he considered to be the truly important material. He wanted to point out some of the paintings around their home and explain the significance of those paintings in his relationship with a work of art more treasured than he could have ever imagined: Tina.

The day faded into night, and after a gorgeous ceremony in the Rice University Memorial Chapel, Tina and Charlie’s guests gathered at the Museum of Natural Science for an evening filled with dining, laughter, dancing, and a touching series of toasts by their dear friends and family. The speeches concluded with a heartfelt expression given by Charlie and Tina to thank their guests for the love and support throughout the years.

Tina and Charlie are artists, and their life together and love for one another must be their greatest works of art. Their love and passion for one another has fixed them together in a way that even the greatest connoisseur of fine art must admire—the marriage of two strokes of paint on canvas, blended to the perfect hue, by the perfect brushstroke, to bring out the paramount expression of life from the other. Absolutely breathtaking.

I second shot this wedding with the fabulous Trista Lerit of Irvine, California and absolutely loved capturing every minute of such a beautiful affair with details crafted by a couple of such creative eye. Congratulations Tina and Charlie!

My Favorite Model

With an absolutely full weekend complete with a wedding shoot on both Saturday and Sunday and a huge settlement conference at work requiring the dreaded all-nighter prep session, it only made sense that I would sweetly implore Mike to let me shoot some shots of him after all the wedding fun was over late Sunday night to try out a fun new technique. Such a good sport. I'm sure on-call modeling was included in the fine-print of our vows somewhere...

Amy & Jason: from rehearsal to action!

A shared love for baking culinary treats requiring a patience level I have not yet achieved...A common laugh capable of inspiring even those in their grumpiest of moments to giggle...A quirky set of prerequisites as to when a movie will be on the official "to view" list (including a strict adherence to "no costumes"). For many reasons, Amy and Jason are the perfect match. The reason that kept coming to my mind during their wedding weekend was a natural reaction to being surrounded by the friends and family who had come to Austin to witness them pledge their lives to one another. To see them interact with their friends and family who have loved them through things from training wheels, braces and career changes affirmed something that I've seen in them even in the relatively brief time that I've been blessed to call each to of them my friend. Both Amy and Jason deeply care for the people God has placed in their lives. God has truly given them a heart for others, and they spend their lives in a purposeful way looking after the people they know and love. Their marriage is another testimony to God's grace and divine appointment; He's given them one another to not only work together in a shared purpose of ministering to others, but I know they'll spend the rest of their lives selflessly looking out for one another as well. Here are some of my favorite images from their fun weekend!

Amy's sweet new nephew was happy to lend his pacifier as a stand-in wedding ring during their rehearsal. The adorable flower girl and ring bearer were also very helpful, of course!
For two true Texans like Amy & Jason, a natural choice for a rehearsal dinner is the fabulous barbecue cuisine at the County Line. As you can see in the images below, the wonderful food with which they placated their guests was not enough to avoid the embarrassing stories that are a must at any rehearsal dinner.

Last minute beauty touches before the big day begins at Shoreline Grill! I love the bridal sass! :)

Jason's own last minute touches....

Too much fun can eventually take its toll on even the best flower girls....:)

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Case!
