Heather & Patrick

Taking care to ensure that her groom-to-be caught not even the slightest glimpse of her, Heather elegantly tip-toed around Barr Mansion to enjoy and survey the gorgeous canvas of wedding day details that she had fashioned. To begin with, let's just all agree that the Barr Mansion is already a stunning scene in which to trade the big "I do." To add the most tasty of icing on the cake, Heather then worked with some of Austin's finest in the wedding industry to style a setting so romantic and chic that it would make the most lavish of princesses feel special. Coby Neal designed the flowers, and as always, his command of the art and use of gorgeous colors and intricate designs produced "oohs" and "ahhs" all around. I was excited when the ever-talented and super fun Tyler Schmitt asked me along to shoot such a beautiful affair. When it was time for Heather to make her grand entrance, she was no longer tip-toeing, but seemed to be floating! Though we were all enchanted by the beauty of the entire scene, we all knew that the real reason she was floating stood at the end of that aisle waiting for her (wearing a huge smile)!

Look at these gorgeous lights! yowza!

Tyler taught the crowd a few dance moves!

Blog Trailer

Have you ever had so much great stuff to tell a friend, but during a particularly busy time, can't find the proper amount of time to allot to sit down and spill all the fun details? I have been feeling this way about my little 'relationship' with the blog lately. I am so far behind on uploading and sharing all the fun details of the things I've been shooting. So sorry blog; I do love you! :) I have been distracted big time by our move...unpacking boxes; sorting through mounds of essays, notes, and receipts from college to law school (I'm a pack rat extraordinaire!); choosing paint colors; making the all important decisions on where each piece of furniture should reside in each room, etc. BUT, I promise I am going to reconnect with the dear blog soon! I have some super fun things to share! Now, where did I put my socks.... ;)

I might need sleep...

Things have been a bit of a crazy, whirlwind, funnel cloud of excitement and responsibility lately. Between moving into our house, shooting/editing, filling print orders, my legal work, and the remainder of the very important things I'm forgetting---not due to the assignment of a lower priority but rather to lack of time nestled against the pillow. (See post title above.) ;)

Funny story to illustrate the point: recently during work I was concentrating intently on the big case~legal ramifications, import of public policy in future decisions, research, time pressures, etcetera and etcetera. I had to make a phone call and was greeted on the other line, not by the person I expected, but rather a receptionist. The receptionist gave me another number at which to contact my party. I repeated the number back to her. I repeated it back to her twice! Despite the fact that I said this number aloud (TWICE), I never realized that she had given me MY number until after I was greeted by my outgoing voice mailbox message after dialing (again, MY NUMBER).

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ......

Promise, I'll be back to full mental capacity after this loooooong weekend!

Natalie: Senior Fun

Natalie is my beautiful, smart, funny, talented, and athletic niece! (And, I'm her proud aunt!) :) She will soon be graduating from my alma mater Highland High School and then showing this world a thing or two, I'm sure. Her signature natural curls and cutie smile have been a light in our family well before she melted hearts with her first attempts at saying my name ("Ooney").  She has made each person in our (enormous) family so proud, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for her. We had a blast shooting her Senior portraits recently! Nat and I shared the vision for some edgy, fun photos. My oldest sister, Lisa (Nat's mom), however, wanted more traditional images. Natalie and I have both been around long enough to learn that we do what Lisa says. :) So, we compromised and did both! :)
Thanks Nat for a fun two days and for enduring sub-Artic temps for us! We love you!!

This is Natalie's triple threat expression when she's ruling the basketball court!

Mike captured this fun flare shot! Love it!

Kaitlyn, another niece of whom I'm so proud, has never been shy for the camera, so we made sure she got in on the action. Mike captured this one!

Another stellar Mike capture!

Day 2: project traditional day! :)
My Mom was there for any make-up touch-ups and necklace adjustments (and comic relief). :) Love you, Mom!

what could be more traditional than wheat and leaves? ;)

Mom and my brother Michael hard at work on lighting control.
Michael shows off his skills to both diffuse AND reflect light. ;)

The model with her "crew." (Until now, I didn't realize that I couldn't smile right when I'm FREEZING!)
Mom, Michael and Natalie looking fab!
